Network Speed Test
Choose a mode to measure your connection. Standard uses large image downloads for realistic throughput; Lite offers a faster XHR test.
About this Network Speed Test
This page measures your internet connection speed directly in the browser. The Standard Test downloads a large image from the Wikipedia CDN in multiple runs. This tends to reflect real‑world throughput because it behaves like fetching media on the open web. The Lite Test uses a smaller, cancellable XHR stream so you can get a quick estimate without waiting for big files.
Results show your average, best and worst download rates along with latency (how quickly a request gets a response) and jitter (the variability in those response times). Numbers can vary between tests due to Wi‑Fi signal, background apps, routing changes and CDN caching. If you want a conservative view, use the worst result; for peak potential, look at the best run.

Note: This test is indicative. ISP shaping, VPNs, browser caching and device performance can influence results. For official troubleshooting, compare with your provider’s recommended test and try a wired connection.
